Southern Chinese Thrashcore Bands Rail Against Sweatshops

Canton (a.k.a Guangdong) is the most iconic state of South China for its long lasting Cantonese cultures and its importance to the world’s manufacturing industry. However, behind its economic prosperity there are long neglected homeless migrant workers in Sanhe, Shenzhen, Canton, which is a place close to Foxconn (Yes, the sweat factories that manufacture iPhones).

The overall concept of this compilation was inspired by a shocking NHK Japan documentary about these sweatshop conditions 「三和人材市場〜中国・日給1500円の若者たち〜」,‘Sit, Eat, Wait for Death’. In it they document the miserable lives these workers lead. As the only few hardcore punk bands living in this region, DISANXIAN (Crust/D-Beat), VENT (Thrashcore/Crossover),  DIARRHEA (Hardcore punk) can’t stand this fact anymore and joined forces to rebel against this form of oppression.
