Stoner/Psychedelic Rock Act LOOPRIDER Release Fuzzed Out New Album/Documentary [Japan]

Japanese trio LOOPRIDER have just released an amazing documentary that takes you through the process of their new full length ‘Metamorphose’. The record was released earlier this year and if you’re looking for that heavy fuzzed out sound but with sick melodic vocals across the top – go check this band out. Shit should be HUGE!

“Expand their sound insanity, Tokyo-based heavy-rock band LOOPRIDER takes a year of hard work to compound, and arrange it as one heavy beautiful noise album, Metamorphose. The Looprider brand new album gives a big step for their musicality journey featuring the new drummer Ryo7, combining their signature sounds of Shoegaze, Noise, Psychedelic-Rock, Doom Metal, and pop composition with reinvigorated substance, making this album beyond expectations. Beautifully arranged with the heavy riff, tight noisy texture, tranquil vocal, and loudness! A big dynamite that will come to your head and give a big explosion to your amp.

The album features the heavy, grunge anthem “Red,” which was part of Adult Swim’s Japan Is Loud compilation, released in 2022, and featured other prominent acts from the Japanese underground, including Boris, Melt-Banana, DMBQ, and Otoboke Beaver. Other tracks include the psychedelic, slow-burner “Nightfall,” the drone metal dirge “After The Flood,” and the shoegaze ballad “Mermaid. The album continues to showcase the group’s now-signature bass-less, three-piece instrumentation of drums and dual, tuned-down baritone guitars, powered by stacks of Orange and Hiwatt amplifiers. Looprider’s “Metamorphose” is a highly majestic and richly rewarding work that is packed full of highly atmospheric sounds. The band’s experimentation with different genres and styles of music makes the album exciting and captivating to listen to.”
