All Of Asia Reeling With Canceled Shows Left And Right…Go Support The Ones That Haven’t

All of Asia is reeling with canceled shows/concerts left and right. Places like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, etc have all been announcing canceled shows for overseas acts who are being cautious about traveling here and (hopefully) worried about bringing thousands of people (think Green Day sized bands) together with the possibility of mass infection.

Though the overseas bands may cancel their performance, a lot of these shows are STILL going on just without the headline act. As you can imagine, businesses throughout Asia have been impacted greatly because of the ongoing health concerns – but try to imagine how much more difficult it is for those in the hospitality industry (hotels, food & beverage, entertainment) who are dealing with a domino effect of the virus. People are being encouraged not to go out, thus no one is eating out and no one is attending events such as music and the arts, thus venues and restaurants aren’t able to pay rent on time and cover payroll, thus people are being let go or establishments are closing down altogether, which means less money in the pockets of people who would otherwise be spending money on food and cultural events. The downward cycle continues…

This is why…when the headline act cancels, yet the promoter is choosing to solider on, you should support. The final choice of whether it’s a good idea to attend or not depends on your up to date information about your safety for gatherings – so make the best choice for you.
