Thai Post Hardcore Band Degaruda Announce Return Show AND EP! WHAT?!

Yo we stoked on this over here…

One of our favorite bands out of Thailand Degaruda suddenly called it quits last year but lucky for us, they couldn’t hold the jams back. They’ve announced a return show AND a brand new EP to boot! WHAT?!

When we approached (more like harassed) band member Dino for more info about how the band got back together, he quickly squashed our excitement, “Well, technically we’re not back together. Top is back in Thailand for the holidays so we thought we might as well use this opportunity to do something. But he’s going back to the UK mid January so then it’s bye bye to Degaruda again”. DAMN. Our harassment continued as you can see below:

But what about the brand new EP?
We had a few songs recorded just before our goodbye show back in 2017. Since then they’ve just been sitting around in a hard drive somewhere. So when we had this idea to do a reunion show, we thought might as well make it an EP release party. It sounds cooler than just coming back to do a reunion show. Like, it would be cool if there was a reason to do a show, you know? Not just reuniting for the sake of it.

So what’s the future for Degaruda then? An annual show/release perhaps?
That’s really hard to say. As Degaruda, we’re definitely not planning to make this a regular thing. But you might see us in some form or another in the future.

What are the members of Degaruda up to now?
Well, as I said, Top is in the UK doing his film stuff. He also plays drums for a band called Drunk Prophets. Van is playing drums for local Japanese hardcore band Low Fat (of which Top is an alumni). Chinn has his new band CHIEF who are also opening for the show. As for me, erm.. Heh…

So there you have it…for you lucky bastards who are going to be able to see this show – HAVE FUN! Info for the show can be found in the flyer below and at this link:

“Hi fans. Hope you are well. It’s been a while, huh? Anyway, um… We’re putting out some new music for you in the form of a digital EP. But we’re not back together. This is just for one night. Confused? See you Jan 11, 2019 at Brownstone Studios. ”
