Ska Reggae Veterans THE FISHSKA Release New Album [Indonesia]

Long-running skinhead ska band THE FISHSKA have released their second album ‘Banned in Jakarta’ 19 years after their debut album. On this 13-track full-length the band mixed and mastered the record at the hands of Esteban Flores Valenzuela (Matamoska, The Bandulus, ex-Steady 45s, The Beat, Aggrolites, Catbite, The Suicide Machines, dll) and John Roy (Smoke and Mirror Sound System). The tracks include previously released, “Rudy Got Soul?” (2008), “Puritan” (2009), and a remake of “Ska Not Dead” (2006), and the rest of the songs were written from 2017 onwards. The tracks include a mix of traditional Ska, Early Reggae / Skinhead Reggae, Funk and Soul. Lyrically, the band steers away from more joyful/danceable lyrical content to issues surrounding the scene. Tracks include songs about dark and taboo topics such as treachery, deceit, horizontal conflicts, rip-offs, silencing, and manipulation.
