London DIY punk quartet TRIPSUN band have released their debut full length album ‘Kill The Dream’ on 4th October. 12 tracks recorded at the Ranch Production House (Southampton), produced mixed and mastered by Daly George.
The title of the album refers to the idea of having to sacrifice certain dreams & plans for the sake of a stable life, something many artists might struggle with in trying to balance making art vs surviving in the real world on a day to day. ‘Kill The Dream’ takes influence from OG melodic punk bands like Lifetime and Osker mixed with the modern sounds of bands like Spraynard and The Menzingers. The album taps in to a number of different lyrical themes from struggling with addiction, work:life balance, relationship with family as well as socio-political issues, racism/hate crime, media bias + songs detailing the effects of life under military occupation.
Tripsun will be playing at FEST 21 (Gainesville, FL) at the end of October, as well as an album release show at New Cross Inn, London on 25th November.
Wait til you hear the track sung in Arabic…eye-watering…sooooo good.
