VIDEO: Phenomenal Garage Punk Band JENSKAYA DISHARMONY Release Live Video [Yakutsk]

Bands like Yakutsk based garage punk band JENSKAYA DISHARMONY is what this website is all about…the band hails from the breath-taking Yakutsk (Russia) punk rock community and was formed back in 2013 so they’ve currently hit the 10 year mark. “We actually broke up for a bit and then the latest lineup has been around since 2021. We’ve always been inspired by the Yakutsk punk rock community but it was very important for us to have an all female band to support the women’s movement in the Sakha scene”.

In the 10 years the band has been around they’ve released the following records:

“Our first releasd is called Demo’14, the second is called Yakut punk/Bad punk is a Yakut compilation released on the Yakut label 62 Parallel. We just wanted to gather girls from the community who played a little, composed some songs, liked to sing and hung out in the community that we call “Youth of the north”. We weren’t driven by feminist ideologies, but we definitely wanted to squeeze into a stable male musical world, thereby inspiring other girls.”

The band has recently released this frickin AMAZING live video all shot outdoors and is what really got us excited about finding out more about them!

“This set was recorded and filmed at the SAND laboratory, in YAKUTSK, Republic of SAKHA. The place is called “KAREEER”, and the structures you see behind us are the top of an old fucked up laboratory. The sound turns infinitely in this sphere of sand, mug and dust. We wanted to confront our songs in this environment full of endless echoes and noises, because, our songs suck.”

Enough from us…go support this incredible band!
