Volkswagen Hong Kong teams up with The Underground to give bands a chance to strut their stuff in front of a live crowd and win time in a recording studio.
Volkswagen and The Underground Battle of the Bands is looking for the very brightest and most original musical talents in Hong Kong.
After four hard-fought semi-finals, 30 groups have been whittled down to just eight, who are now ready to do battle once more for an amazing line-up of prizes.
We’re delighted to announce the following bands are in the final:
At the final, each band will perform for 12 minutes – including at least one original song. The esteemed judges are Lauren James, Reporter, South China Morning Post, Sammy So, KOLOR and a third judge to be confirmed. This trio of experts will be scoring acts on all areas of their performances, including stage presentation, musical technique, song quality and band enthusiasm.
One overall winning band will receive recording time with Sammy So (KOLOR), Parsons Music vouchers, and free shuttle service with a Volkswagen T6 Transporter for their next two gigs.
Individual musicians will also be recognised, with awards for Best Drummer, Best Guitarist, Best Keyboardist, Best Bassist and Best Vocalist.
Crowd support in the semi-finals was overwhelming, so we’re excited to offer a “People’s Choice” award – entirely voted for by fans on the final night.
Don’t miss showing up and shouting out for your favourite band on 27th May at Hang Out in Sai Wan Ho. 7pm ’til 11pm.
