Myanmar-Based Punk Band REBEL RIOT Drop New MV For ‘A las Barricadas’ [Myanmar]

Mynamar-based punk band REBEL RIOT have released a music video for their new single entitled ¡A las Barricadas!.

The track is their version of the famous Spanish anarchist song A las Barricadas. A las Barricadas is a revolutionary anthem that became a symbol of the CNT-FAI anarchist workers during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The lyrics, written by Valeriano Orobón Fernández, celebrate anarchist ideals: freedom, revolution, and workers’ equality.

This adaptation pays tribute to the resistance fighters who, since the coup, have been bravely fighting the dictatorship unarmed but with unwavering determination. It is also a way to ensure that Rebel Zin Lin, imprisoned since 2022, and all other detained activists are never forgotten.

This new track honors the perseverance of those who, four years after the coup, continue to fight the fascist military dictatorship in all its forms.
