Punk Band SAILOR HONEYMOON Release New Single ‘Pickle’ [Korea]

Following a fast-paced year that cemented them as one of the most exciting new bands coming out of Asia, Korean all-woman punk trio SAILOR HONEYMOON return with their new single “Pickle”.

Since emerging from Seoul’s underground scene, Sailor Honeymoon have built an international reputation through their energizing live shows and distorted guitar sounds. Formed by photographer Abi Raymaker (장인화) and former DJ Zaeeun Shin (신재은), and completed by bassist Yelim Kim (김예림), the trio have spent the last year turning their buzz into something tangible, playing festivals across Europe and Asia while continuing to release new music.

“Pickle” builds on the biting satire of “Armchair”, pushing the band further into their sweaty, loud, and slightly existential world.

“It’s a song for when you’re in deep trouble and you need to go to the local jjimjilbang to think it over. We all love bathhouses and saunas, so we always try to find ones whenever we’re on tour to sweat it out.”

The single continues the momentum that has made Sailor Honeymoon one of the defining new names in Korea’s independent music scene, balancing punk intensity with sharp songwriting and an irreverent sense of humour.

The release arrives ahead of a packed summer schedule for the band, including upcoming Asia shows at DMZ Peace Train Music Festival in Cheorwon, close to the border between North and South Korea, and Playtime Festival in Mongolia. In August, they will record new music at the Marshall Studios in Milton Keynes (outside of London) before embarking on a Europe and UK tour including shows at Sur Le Lac, Øya Festival, Flow Festival, and Green Man Festival, alongside a London headline show at The Windmill Brixton with more announcements to come.
