Best Band Name Award: LITERALLY ANYTHING BEFORE BROS : Release Full Length [Turkey]

It’s super rad when we get submissions from bands outside of the typical areas that we cover – so when bands like Turkish punk band LITERALLY ANYTHING BEFORE BROS sent this submission in, we were all excited here. And add to that, the band name fucking rules.

Here’s the full write-up:

“The album features 13 tracks that combine riot grrrl fury with melodic indie punk softness, exploring themes ranging from friendship, love, healing, body politics, and anarchic visions. Upon the dissolution of the feminist punk band Secondhand Underpants, former members Fulden & Selenay recorded their debut between August 2021 and May 2022 at the Deadhouse Studio in Ankara, Turkey, the home to their other project, Emaskülatör. With the recent joining in of Umay (Emaskülatör, The Great Dreamer) and Volkan (Plein de Vie, Noise Nest), the band played a show in solidarity with the survivors of the Kahramanmaraş earthquake earlier this year. Like the rest of the album, the music video of their single “We’re Not Friends” is humorous, playful, and mesmerizing. Barbiecore at heart, LABB’s “Gone Feral” promises a good time this summer. Look out for the cassette tape by Godless America Records and the vinyl by La Agonia de Vivir to be released soon!”
