Singaporean pop punk band Take Off has just announced their farewell show after 8 years of giving it their all to the music and community that they love, and mourning the loss of a member. We wish the guys the best of luck as they move forward. If you’re in Singapore go stop by their last ever show which also just happens to be the first punk rock show in Singapore in over 2 years.
All the details can be found below.
From their vocalist Bob himself:
“As an ode to what we love most about Singapore – the punk rock music scene – and as a fitting tribute to our 8 years as the resident punx here, we’ve decided to play one last show with some of our friends, say our goodbyes, and also welcome the end of the pandemic the best way we know how – with music. Isaac’s untimely passing in 2020 (you can read about it HERE), coupled with Bob’s plans to move to Berkeley for further studies later this year has contributed to our resolve to cement the legacy of the band, rather than continue going with a revolving door line-up.
Never say never, and we might be back with a last EP/album at some point to round off our years as a band, but for now, this will be our last live show, and we couldn’t be more stoked to share the experience with amazing bands who have become our good friends as well. There’s a mix of established bands who have been around for way longer than we have, and younger up-and-coming bands whom we hope to pass the torch to, to keep punk rock going for the next generation of misfits and misunderstood kids.”
Tickets are on sale HERE and the show features a great mix of Singaporean punk rock from melodic punk, skate punk, ska-punk, pop-punk, and even oi.
