AAPI Heritage Month in USA – We Celebrate Asians Repping at Sound and Fury Fest 2022

(All photos courtesy of Joe Calixto unless otherwise stated)

Like much of the world, sitting here in Hong Kong we were super stoked to see the lineup announcement for both this year’s Sound and Fury Fest in California and This is Hardcore Fest in Philly.

While skimming through the list of bands on Sound and Fury Fest, our good friend Joe Calixto – Pinoy photographer extraordinaire – made a quick quip about how hard Asians are being represented in this year’s edition. We did a quick check and he’s frickin right…SO…since it’s AAPI heritage month in the US “celebrating the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the United States”, AND since we’re coming from out here in the motherland (hahahaha) we thought we’d give a huge shout out to the following members of bands repping at this year’s fest. Also, regardless of actual percentage of Asian DNA, we’re claiming you! Hahahaha…

(If we miss anyone please let us know and we’ll update this right away!)

First up, Alec – Bassist of Gods Hate (photographed above).

Josef – Vocalist of Sunami

Vince – Drummer of Militarie Gun

For all of us out here in Asia who can’t make it out to attend this year’s Sound and Fury Fest (or ever have a chance to travel to the US due to passport/visa issues), if you’re attending as a band member, in the audience, doing merch, TM-ing, taking photos, filming, whatever, please KILL it for us!
