In a time where social distancing is the new norm, musicians are stuck in their houses because social gatherings like gigs are strictly prohibited and access to recording studios are also a challenge, the only thing that most musicians could do is play live while video streaming and participate in online collaborations with other musicians. There is no doubt that this pandemic is affecting musicians all around the globe. But one musician based in Taguig City was able to complete an EP using only the resources he has: A pop filter, a couple of guitars and bass, and an iPhone. Talk about DIY home recording. Jeric Noel Cruz (of the bands T f r, Eiffel, Lara, and South Ohana) was able to produce his own EP called “English Ramen”. It is with great dedication and passion that he was able to release this solo Shoegaze/Dreampop project. You could actually hear the creativity in the songs on the EP. It was mixed and mastered by Jeric alone. This is a must-listen-to project if you are a fan of Shoegaze and Dreampop.
