Songs About Mental Health – New Band HOLT Drop Debut EP / Music Video [Philippines]

Amazing debut by brand new Filipino band called HOLT that features members of TYPECAST, SMALL HANDS and ORDINARY NEIGHBORS. Though the members are spread out all over the world, with the beauty of technology they were able to come together remotely and release a full EP. Guitarist, Tani, shared, “I got acquainted with Shaun when we did the Small Hands / Ordinary Neighbors split EP. I then got a message from Shaun I think around late 2023 to form this new online band (since he lives in the US and me in PH). He eventually got Chi and Tan Ferrer to round up the whole band. I actually haven’t met Shaun and Tan in person since Tan also lives quite far from us. Like a 4-5 hour drive away. Shaun wrote all the songs. When Shaun came home to PH, Tan also visited Metro Manila and they both recorded in QC. I recorded my parts at home and Chi recorded his parts at Hannah’s (bird. / Lindenwood) studio.”

The band takes musical inspiration from bands like Living With Lions, Lifetime and Grey Area. “Lyrically, the songs are about struggling yet still managing mental health and the acceptance of failing relationships.”
