Metal Trio VOICE OF BACEPROT Release Debut EP ‘Transisi’ [Indonesia]

After introducing a series of powerful new singles between late 2024 and early 2025, VOICE OF BACEPROT (VoB) now returns with a complete collection. The all-female metal trio—Firda “Marsya” Kurnia (guitar & vocals), Widi Rahmawati (bass), and Euis Sitti Aisah (drums)—officially release their latest mini album, TRANSISI, on May 23, 2025. This EP stands as a bold musical statement about transformation, growth, and resistance to stagnation—both personal, social, and musical

Featuring six explosive tracks, TRANSISI marks a new era in VoB’s artistic journey: more mature, more outspoken, and more fearless than ever. Not only does it deliver their signature thunderous sound, but each track also carries sharp, reflective narratives exploring social, political, and spiritual realities faced by the band—and perhaps, by many of us today.

The self-produced EP opens with “Mighty Island,” an energetic and rousing track. The song serves as a metaphor for a land taken away from its people—an electrifying revolutionary anthem of liberation

Next comes “RENEGADE SHEEP,” a capital-lettered title that doubles as a battle cry for free spirits who choose to go against the current. “This is a voice for those who no longer want to be silenced members of the herd,” Marsya, the band’s lyricist, explains

Track three, “Put The Gun Down,” delivers a powerful message of peace amidst an increasingly brutal world. It sheds light on the humanity often hidden behind acts of violence and legalized repression

Continuing this spirit, VoB presents a searing critique of Indonesia’s current political climate in “Madness of The Present Century.” The track rages against normalized nepotism, abuses of power, and blatant corruption. It is a raw, honest protest and a refusal to accept a system that no longer serves its people

As the EP nears its end, “The Other Side of Metalism” takes a more introspective and philosophical turn. The song explores the spiritual dimensions of heavy music—as a form of deep expression that transcends genre boundaries

Finally, a remastered version of “Rumah Tanah Tidak Dijual”—previously released as part of the sonic/panic vol.2 compilation album by IKLIM, Music Declares Emergency Indonesia—closes the EP with a reflective tone. The track speaks to the ongoing threat of deforestation and land grabbing under the guise of development, mining, or tourism. “Since we were teens, we often overheard adults talking about turning forests, rivers, valleys, mountains—even rice fields—into tourist destinations,” VoB recalls

With TRANSISI, Voice of Baceprot asserts themselves as more than just a band—they are the voice of a generation in flux: questioning everything, doubting the status quo, and courageously igniting the spark of change

All tracks on the TRANSISI EP were produced by Christopher Bollemeyer (aka Coki NTRL), with vocals and drums recorded at Syaelendra Studio, and guitars and bass tracked at PM16 Studio, Coki’s personal studio, with engineer Iphe Topan. Mixing and mastering were handled by Ivan Gojaya at Roemah Iponk, and the album cover was created by Akmal Abdurahman (@akawork280)

This six-track mini album is said to be a prelude to a full-length album currently in the works. For now, listen, feel, and become a part of the TRANSISI that VoB is bringing forward.
