Now that the biggest extreme band from Singapore has basically imploded (look it up), all is fine because that crown is safe in the hands of Singaporean death metal geniuses DOLDREY. And on their brand new EP ‘Only Death is Eternal’, streaming in its entirety below, that crown is well-deserved.
We don’t know what else to say about the band that you haven’t already heard from us on this website. We are Doldrey stans. For life.
It is something about the way these fellas do death metal. It’s devoid of any trends – instead of doing the death metal meets hardcore meets beatdown that has taken over the world, the band expertly adds crust/D-beat/noise/thrash/black metal rawness to their brand of death metal. This is everything from the riffs, to the vocals (feral by nature), to the overall production. Think Entombed meets GISM. Yeah, that’s how crazy this band is and they do it so damn well.
The band celebrated the release of their new EP with a sick show in their hometown. The full video is streaming below. At this show they also raised money for Gaza for which they released the following statement:
“From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to thank everyone that came out to support our record release show and a huge thank you to SIAL, LIFELOCK and MASAKRE for a night of pure chaos! It was a huge honour to be able to share the stage again with these bands. Thanks to all our friends that contributed and helped out with the show and big respect to Soundblast for providing the massive sound for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks to your support, we were able to donate a total of SGD1700.00 from the profits of the show to Love Aid SG which serves to aid the families and children in need in Gaza.
More than ever now these people need us to come together. And more than ever now we need to be kinder. We stand on the right side of humanity.
FREE PALESTINE”
RESPECT.
