Singapore metalcore band Villes have officially released their debut album ‘The Cure’, today via Shibui Records and is available on Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify. To mark the release, the band has shared the official music video for title track and latest single “The Cure”, available for viewing here:
“The Cure, which symbolises a breakaway from society’s standards. People’s beliefs are held captive to rules set by others. The Cure hopes to inculcate courage, by letting people know that they can do what they want in their lives without the fear of losing out.” states Bryan Sta Maria, guitarist/vocalist of Villes.
Described by Sound Fiction as “one of the strongest post hardcore releases in years”, ‘The Cure’ centers on Villes’ personalized brand of post-hardcore music infused with pop sensibilities, evident in their signature blend of screams and clean catchy choruses that are supported by a commanding structure of complex guitar riffs forming groove linearity with the drums.
‘The Cure’ is mixed & mastered by Josh Schroeder (The Plot In You, In Hearts Wake, The Color Morale). Their first single, “Don’t You Worry”, which topped the iTunes Rock Chart in Singapore, was featured on Triple J – Short.Fast.Loud (Aus), idobi Radio (US), and MTV Asia. Their second single “The Fear Generation” which featured a collaboration with famed rapper THELIONCITYBOY was also played on Triple J – Short.Fast.Loud (Aus).
