Sad news from China’s punk rock community…

As word is getting round these parts…

A very passionate and long-running member of China’s huge punk rock community, Lei Jun – the singer of a staple punk band in China called Misandao – passed away suddenly today. His family has a history of heart attacks, his father passed away the same way.

We in King Ly Chee have met this wonderful person many many times. He came to our shows and was always found dancing around in the pit to our songs and any time we blasted SMZB’s “Scream for Life” he was right up front singing along.

It is always sad when someone passes, but even more heart-wrenching when it’s one of your own…

RIP to Lei Jun – we’ll meet again one day.
