Check out Hong Kong based metalcore band CMDZ on their brand new single ‘In the Name of Slander’. The band stated, “The background is based on the famous story of Yue Fei from Chinese history that he has been slandered by petty people due to his warlike stance and eventually was put to death under a concocted charge.
Cases of slander happen every day, everywhere. Regardless of their extent, we can never forgive and forget. There will always be a moment to revenge, even if it’s in hell.
In regards to the MV, it’s a first-person perspective from a killer, who is planning on murder to seek revenge. The (visual) tone change in the 2nd half of the MV is a portrait of how “hell” looks like. Overall the MV is quite abstract but the element of revenge and hell matches with the music itself.”
