“We’re Inspired by PMA” – Hardcore Act MYSTRIVE Release Fullset Live Video [China]

Zhu Hai, China-based melodic hardcore band MYSTRIVE have released a fullset live video.

The band were kind enough to give us a little background to how they all started. “We started the band back in 2018 as just a bunch of university students. We’re a bunch of people who are very passionate about hardcore and are especially inspired by a “positive mental attitude”. As we started writing music we switched from a more 90s metalcore revival sound to a more melodic direction by adding more melodies. We wanted to have more clean singalong parts with some sick little breakdowns.”

The band has been at it for a few years now and are pretty clear about their main musical inspiration. “The bands that we have learned the most from are Counterparts, seeyouspacecowaboy, and most importantly, fellow Zhu Hai band Laofoye. Laofoye has had a huge impact on us. They combine spoken parts and hardcore grooves perfectly in their songs.”
