Indie Pop Act We Are Imaginary Release Durden [Philippines]

We Are Imaginary are back with “DURDEN”, a new single from their forthcoming six-track EP under floppydisks this 2020.

The song is a reference to the mad alter-ego of the protagonist in Palahniuk’s Fight Club, and it doesn’t dwell in surprises. Instead, you get a straight-up somber vibe that hints of the raw tension between acceptance and regret. We can hear WAI’s familiar indie-pop doodling around the surface, adding to the production’s warmth as the narrator traces each chapter of a relationship’s demise intimately. The song closes as a satisfying resolution wrapped in a celebratory noise; a sweet contemplation to finally move on.

Previous singles from We Are Imaginary are also part of the EP: Dekada and Do You Mind released in 2018, and Motion Sickness released in 2020.

Durden is produced by We Are Imaginary and RJ Mabilin.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by RJ Mabilin at Redverb.
