Heavy Hardcore/Beatdown From The Coldest Scene On Earth – Yakutsk’s MOSTWANTED

The Russian territory of Yakutsk is a scene that we gladly write about. The scene has always been more punk focused and so when beatdown band MOSTWANTED got in touch, we were stoked to hear something heavy coming out of that community.

With a few quick DM’s, the band was quick to tell us, “Not only are we made of the youngest people in our scene, 16 year olds, we’re also currently the only hardcore band in our community”. That might be wild to many of you…but there are actually are places on Earth that down roll with hardcore. It’s fascinating which places on Earth just aren’t that into hardcore – regardless of how gigantic bands like Turnstile have gotten. Places like Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc are just not that into hardcore. It’s always been an uphill battle for the very few bands of those communities.

“Our lyrics are about love, pain, and lifestyle. We express the experiences of Yakut teenagers and tackle real-life issues,” states the band. Musically, they’re influenced by the bands that have been making their mark especially the past few years – Sunami, Outta Pocket, etc.

Their debut EP is out on DARGYL RECORDS also outta Yakutsk.
