Hardcore Band BRACE YOURSELVES Enlist PILEDRIVER On New Single [Philippines]

Filipino hardcore band BRACE YOURSELVES have released a music video for a brand new single entitled ‘Last Light’. According to the band, “The track is a moving exploration of mental health struggles and suicidal thoughts”. Lyrics includes lines such as the following, ” My own mind keeps me awake at night, fighting off the enemies and thoughts I always keep inside” and “Soon, I’ll be the catalyst of this one life I’ll take away myself”.

For the track, the band enlisted the help of the newest vocalist of long-running hardcore band PILEDRIVER. Ver Sagum’s presence adds an extra layer of grit and vulnerability, blending seamlessly with Brace Yourselves’ emotional delivery. The song vividly captures internal battles—shifts between despair and fleeting resilience—through lines like “Fought for honor, throwing away the hate”, while the chorus “For those left behind” reminds us of the ripple effect our pain can have on others, transforming the track into a plea for empathy and connection.

The music itself harks back to the days of Haymaker-era Throwdown with low drop tunning and heavy breakdowns. Guitars sound HARD in this production.
