Tokyo Escape is an emotive punk band from Manila (formed in 2019) whose sound encompasses emo, pop-punk, hardcore, and math rock. The band’s latest track is entitled ‘Friday I’m a Simp’ which the band explains below:
“‘Friday I’m a Simp’ was born out of nostalgia for the band’s high school days. Singer/guitarist Shawn Reyes and bassist/singer Z Pineda wrote the song to poke fun at the days in school when they would chase girls with whom they had no chance. High school relationships were always so unpredictable and dramatic, but looking back on them now you can’t help but laugh.”
