Canadian Post Hardcore Band DOGWHISTLE Release Debut Single [Canada]

Toronto post-hardcore newcomers DOGWHISTLE have released their first single, “First Person Shooter,” off their upcoming debut EP Textile Waste, scheduled for release via ENDNOTE RECORDS. Sonically hearkening back to the groove-centric edges of 90s hardcore and noise rock, “First Person Shooter” is an incisive, sardonic rip into 21st-century militarism, technological alienation, and the detached brutality of drone warfare.

“War is only an invention, not a biological necessity,” as anthropologist Margaret Mead once said — a sentiment that echoes throughout the song.

Accompanying the single is a music video showcasing the band’s high-energy performance style and unwavering anti-war convictions.
