SEVEN8SIX isn’t just a band… It’s the sound of the current Kuala Lumpur streets. Today, the bands officially unleash their debut EP, EMBODIMENT OF VIOLENCE. A five-track explosion of “King-kong ass beat music” designed to hit you straight in the chest.
Forged in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur Hardcore scene, SEVEN8SIX specializes in pure, unfiltered aggression. But beneath the crushing riffs and heavy grooves lies a deeply human story of resilience.
For Seth, this EP is the culmination of a turbulent journey. EMBODIMENT OF VIOLENCE carries the weight of personal struggles and the sting of betrayal he faced throughout his years in music.
“This record is about the scars you get along the way,” Seth shares. “I’ve dealt with being betrayed by people I trusted in this circle, but that struggle led me to find a new brotherhood and a community that actually has my back. This EP is for me and for them.”
Lyrically, Hisham Segambut mirrors this sentiment, documenting his evolution from a kid standing in the back of the room at hardcore shows to a bigger voice on the stage. His contributions explore the daily grind of life and the power of the South East Asia (SEA) hardcore community in helping him overcome those struggles. Also this release is made possible by our friends, special thanks to Outlawss Syndicate Records from Yogyakarta.
Musically, SEVEN8SIX doesn’t hold back. Taking cues from the versatility of Outta Pocket and the raw power of Special Move, the EP delivers riffs that are as rhythmic as they are destructive.
The project was a massive collaborative effort, featuring heavy-hitters from the scene:
Hard And Raw features guest vocals from Azril Ramli and Arif Syimir.
Fools Game brings in the energy of Anumbz (Keep It Real).
To ensure the sound weight matched the aggresive depth, the band tracked the EP at Enemy Audio (Recording, Mix & Master) with additional vocal tracking by Izmal Che Ahmad. The visual identity of the EP was crafted by our dear friend, Fr3lan.
Check out a brand new Taiwanese hardcore band called GUNPOINT, who’ve just dropped their debut demo ‘Don’t Ever Stop Moving’. The band were kind enough to send us some...
