SULD is a folk metal band from Inner Mongolia, China. The band is named after the ultimate symbol of all Mongolians and once the fork shaped weapon of Genghis Khan. This is also a clear indication of the music direction of SULD – a cross genre rock band fusing Mongolian folklore traditions with solid hard rock and heavy metal. Vocal interpreting songs in unique Khoomei (Traditional Throat Singing) way. Besides standard modern rock instruments like guitar, bass and drums, SULD’s music especially emphasizes the rich sound of Murin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), tobshuur, balalaika and the depth cultural heritage that comes with these traditional Mongolian instruments.
SULD is a band with multi talents and diverse workforce. They can perform both rock and heavy metal, also can perform in unplugged traditional Monglian music. The songs are singing the praise of values of the old way and legends of the past and the musicians behind it all grew up on the grassland with some still choose to live in full nature.
They have released 4 albums and been invited to perform festivals in Russia, Germany, China, Taiwan and now in the USA for the first time by the Extreme Tour and the Echo Music Festival.
