“Who would’ve thought that a laid-back semi-urban conservative Catholic block carabao dunghole of a city in Bicol, Philippines could be a sizzling hotbed for punk, hardcore, and metal? If you don’t know that yet, chances are you still haven’t read Betzine –the first ever legit underground fanzine to document Naga City’s burgeoning independent music community. This 100% cut & paste zine covers, among others, local DiY music scene history, seminal and upcoming acts, interviews, record reviews, gig reports, socio-political rants, chaotic artworks, mondo bizarro features, and tons of spicy stuff about the city’s hardcore punk subbacultcha.
