Youth crew hardcore has to be done right – not just the song structure but the vocal style is so signature and of course, the recording can’t be overdone – it has to have just the right “rawness” to it. Japanese youth crew band True Fight are clearly students of this subgenre of hardcore (even their merch is on point) – the band’s debut full-length ‘Reason to Believe’ was released in December last year but has now kindly been made available on streaming platforms for the rest of us.
To hear how the band does this genre proud is so badass. True Fight had earlier this year released a music video for the final track of the album called ‘Real Deal’ and a killer split CDep with Indonesian hardcore band Prime (who rule).
