Punk Duo HYPER GAL Release New Record ‘Pure’ [Japan]

Springing from Osaka,Japan’s cultural center and historical heart, comes HYPER GAL, a two-piece band consisting of visual artist Koharu Ishida on vocals and noise artist Kurumi Kadoya on drums. The minimalist duo make maximum impact-stripping music down beyond the bare essentials, to create shimmering, no wave pop from blast-beat drums, glittery keyboard loops and ethereal bubblegum vocals – laced with velvet and firecrackers.

The band kick off 2024 with the release of “Pure”, previously only available in Japan and now available wordwide via SKiN GRAFT Records, who have a long history of working with Japanese artists, such as Melt-Banana, Koenjihyakkei, Space Streakings, Ruins, Yamatsuka Eye’s UFO or Die and others.

Commenting on their signing to SKiN GRAFT Records, the duo says: “It has been almost five years since HYPER GAL started its activities in Japan. These years have been very exciting.
