Progressive Band The Divine Strings Write Track About Delhi Riots [India]

The Divine Strings is a classic progressive Act hailing from Delhi, India. During the 2020 devastating Delhi riots the band was inspired to create a song entitled ‘Why My Home Burns’ which is the title track of their upcoming EP.

“The song talks about the trauma caused during riots and communal outbreaks. About how when you grow up and become a ‘citizen’ – you become a part of several things voluntarily and involuntarily. You are no more an individual dealing with your small worldly issues, things become more grave and complex as you become a part of a larger sect – a neighborhood, a society, and a nation. A life where you’re already facing the ordeal of holding a job, a healthy mental state, a relationship – some spite in this ever-paced life. It’s already too much for an adult to take who is still not sure if he’s ready for all these responsibilities and out of nowhere, he’s mixed up with something far grievous from what they ever expected which is riots and communal outbreaks.”
