Another superb release from The Sound of Go is entitled Japan. The track incorporates aspects of The Sound of Go’s brand of pop punk with a touch of hardcore and easycore mixed in.
Last time we talked with the band, they mentioned that they will be releasing new songs this year which will address themes that they believe all individuals face at some point in their lives. They have always been interested in creating songs about life, love, and everything in between, and their new song is all about providing assurances to someone who is important to one’s life – a guarantee that they will never have to experience being lonely again and that you will always be there for them regardless of the circumstances. “Love is real. It’s tangible and doesn’t let your bad experiences tell you otherwise,” shares Paolo Bondoc, the band’s vocalist.
Since Japan‘s initial conception in 2013, the band had long intended to finally put it on record. While the end output is quite different from the original, they were able to arrange it into a complete song and have been performing it live since 2015 before finally releasing it as an official track this week. The song would be their first official release since 2015’s EP “Traffic Lights and Fistfights”.
According to Paolo, “the most challenging part of recording was definitely finding the time to sit together with the band and finishing the songs that we have written for quite a while now. The pandemic provided us that stint and, of course, the people from Melt who were quite instrumental in making our dreams come true, sharing our music to the world.”
The textured hot pink color and the framed shot of a coffee spill make for an intriguing combination in Japan’s cover art. The band’s shared appreciation for coffee and palettes of this tone inspired the concept. The band express their gratitude to their “homeboy”, Abel Olita, and to Misery Co. who collaborated on the art.
The band is thrilled to soon be able to share their upcoming release as well as all of their love with the people who have been there for them through thick and thin. This new release of The Sound of Go is a reflection and culmination of what they are as a group of individuals with different music tastes, and experiences coming together to build something from different perspectives.
What a MASSIVE announcement by our fellas in Japanese hardcore legends LOYAL TO THE GRAVE. After 7 long years, the band has just announced a brand new 5 track...
