One of Shanghai’s Sole Remaining Hardcore Bands, THE LOUDSPEAKER, Release Album [China]

One of Shanghai few remaining hardcore bands continues to be long-running act THE LOUDSPEAKER. Earlier the band released their latest crust/dark hardcore album ‘Kako Topia’ and were kind enough to send in the following information:

“The title of the record comes from the novel 1984. It is a dystopian world under a totalitarian environment. In particular, I was exposed to it in the three extreme years, and found that it was highly consistent with the scenes in the novel. One of the songs, “The Land of Confinement”, is about this incident, and the song of the same name, “Kakotopia”, directly quotes the theme of 1984. The name of the song “Dawn Blade” comes from the story behind a toy I like. It is about the theme of immigrants armed against the ruling class. “Seeking Death” describes the wasteland scene after the nuclear war, which is also about the theme of human loss of control.

We actually have a whole other album that was supposed to come out right around now, but it’s coming out early 2025!”

Go support hardcore in places where it’s not a form of music that’s well-loved.
