Filipino Metal Vets Skychurch Back Again With New Single ‘Enemy’ and Lyric Video

How many bands do you know who were formed back in 1990 are STILL killing it today and still releasing music that sounds contemporary as fuck without even a HINT of trying? Not many…Filipino metal band Skychurch just keep doing it and staying true to their groove-oriented, hard-hitting, straight-to-your-face metal. Riffs are always top-notch, drums have always been bananas, and those vocals…fucking badass.

On the new song, vocalist/bassist Russell dela Cruz states, “This song is straightforward with its message that one’s inability to deliver and one’s failure to rise up and be the best version of himself is because of his own doing. Thus, one’s self is one’s worst Enemy. I am the ENEMY, as the song suggests.”

The Skychurch track was initially written during the band’s 2004 – 2010 era and had been kept at the ready for more than a decade. Russell immediately had the song in mind while recording for Tower of Doom, and it was just a matter of recalling all the riffs and lyrics in his memory vault.
