A Decade Into Their Career – Hong Kong Doom Metal Band CHIMERAS Release Debut Album

Brilliant Hong Kong-based doom-metal band CHIMERAS have been around since 2013. The band’s music is hypnotic on many levels – none more so than how the apocalyptic, morose, tragic vibe of their music beautifully matches the general sense of dread and hopelessness that has overcome Hong Kong these past few years. To finally have an album full of music that provides the necessary soundtrack to the downward trajectory of this once vibrant city is so not only important, it’s essential.

The album is called ‘Silent Cries in the Stifling Haze’ which comes with 6 songs clocking in at 45 minutes. The music is etheral with the vocalist Fraise handling both the airy singing, falsetto singing, and low guttural screams. She is an absolute beast on the mic…and the rest of the band back her overall sense of tragedy with layers upon layers of sonic sounds via instruments and atmospherics.
