In a groundbreaking moment for the Bangladeshi metal scene, BLACK CATHEDRAL has emerged as the country’s first Deathcore/Blackened Deathcore band, captivating audiences with their debut single, “Roktodoob.” The track showcases a unique blend of aggressive riffs, guttural vocals, and haunting melodies, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of heavy music in Bangladesh. The track Roktodoob also implies to be drowned in blood.
Formed in 2024, Black Cathedral has quickly gained recognition for their innovative sound and powerful performances right after the debut single. “Roktodoob” explores themes of human futility and existential dread of a mere individual at their death’s door, resonating with fans and critics alike. The single has already garnered positive feedback from the local metal community, setting the stage for the band’s future endeavors. The band was founded in 2024 by the founding members Charlie (bassist) and Mahadi (vocalist), then later joined by their lead guitarist and composition maker, Diganta Mitra, which boosted the band’s overall morale. The current line-up is Mahadi on vocals. Charlie switched to guitar from bass. Diganta on guitar and Ryan on bass, Shirajul Munna on drums As they performed their tracks in Loud&Lethal by Warhammer on December 27th and in OBSERVABLE CONTINUUM on January 11th, Black Cathedral made a lasting impact on the regional music scene.
With plans for an upcoming long EP, the band is committed to pushing the boundaries of their genre and connecting with fans across Bangladesh and beyond.
