When bands scream about overcoming adversity and modeling how to take the punches and keep moving forward, you gotta give it up to bands like PILEDRIVER who’ve gone through so many vocalists that any other band would’ve closed up shop long ago. But not long-running Filipino hardcore band, Piledriver, they ain’t packing it in anytime soon. And guess what? 2025 is the band’s 27th year anniversary. NUTS.
RESPECT.
The band recently announced their brand new vocalist – Ver – who sang for death metal band AUGUST MAYHEM (who we’ve written about numerous times before):
“2025 is shaping up to be a game-changer for PILEDRIVER. The band is fired up to introduce their new frontman. Ver, whose hardcore grit and raw energy are taking the lineup to punishing new heights. With venomous vocals, blistering intensity, and an uncompromising attitude. The band will open the new year with a show on Jan.11, 2025 for Laguna Hardcore’s 30th Anniversary. We are looking forward in seeing you all there! Come out and Represent! New music and tour are already in the works. We will surely see you all again soon in a town near you!”
From Ver himself:
“I joined PILEDRIVER because I’ve always admired the passion and energy of the hardcore scene. While my roots are in metal, I’ve always had a big heart for hardcore music, supporting hardcore shows and the community. Being part of PILEDRIVER is my way of contributing to a scene I truly love and respect.”
Beautifully said.
