Yo…no joke, we often get into great conversations amongst our friends who are very much about seeing the potential of bands. That’s why we started this site and often give brand new bands a chance to get their stuff out there, because we can see what they’re going to become in time, so let’s give them a start if we can.
Malaysian hardcore band UNSEEN is one of those bands…and they’re back with brand new heat that is miles above what they released previously (and that shit was already FIRE).
They were kind enough to address this. “Musically, we’ve undergone a significant evolution. With Muaz joining us as our new guitarist, our sound has transformed, bringing a fresh energy and intensity to our music. Influenced heavily by Gel and Spy, these tracks harness a new level of aggression and vitality, using music as a powerful outlet for channeling emotions and coping with life’s challenges. This new promo marks a major shift for us, reflecting our growth and commitment to delivering compelling, impactful music.” That explains a LOT! The tracks are so good…
“The lyrics delve deeply into the themes of self-obsession and validation. Lyrically, they paint a powerful portrait of individuals consumed by their own reflections, trapped by their need for constant admiration and unable to look beyond their own desires. This fixation can have a ripple effect, impacting those around them by eroding their self-esteem through persistent criticism and invalidation. These new songs are designed not just to entertain but to resonate on a personal level, inviting listeners to reflect on their own experiences. By openly addressing mental health issues and sharing raw, personal stories, we aim to foster empathy, promote understanding, and inspire positive change. The message is clear: mental health struggles are a common human experience, and offering support and compassion can profoundly impact those in need.”
Also, you want to know what type of submissions we get that we’re stoked on? These kinds of submissions. Submissions with tons of substance and information about the band and what they believe in. You know what kind of submissions we fucking hate? “We are XXX and we’ve dropped a new song”. That’s it? Fuck off.
