Singaporean metal parody act Evil Singing Pandas have released a track entitled ‘We Are the Mighty Eagles’ dedicated to the Singapore-based Geylang International Football Club. Teaming up with Kohld Haveneson of Laang (Keelung, Taiwan) on music production in this final one, Remy Evilpanda (Lead Vocalist, Lyricist, Vocal Arranger of ESP) is taking this chance to give back. The production is 100% self-funded with an intention of Community Building.
“I hope ‘We Are The Mighty Eagles’ can unite existing fans, garner new fans, and most importantly encourage the Mighty Eagles of GIFC to score more goals and win more games.”, explained Remy.
“Some people might think that we are ‘selling out’ and no longer staying true to Metal, we wimped out by doing something so commercial and ‘above-ground’. I just don’t want to be one-trick-pony. *laughs* Music is music. Love is love. As long as I can make someone somehow evoke an emotion through my works, I think I have succeeded.”
Evoking Emotions, this anthem did. With majestic string arrangements in the beginning, leading into a short passage of EDM noodling, followed by heart-pumping addictive electric guitar riffs and heavy rock drums, all in the first 30 seconds.
The simple lyrics and catchy sing-along chorus are sure winners to warm up both the fans and the players of GIFC before kick-off, getting them to “Soar high up in the sky, on their way to victory.”
This track is an honest regional cross-over collaboration, also featuring Songbird Joan Sia of Singapore’s “The G Majors” on backing vocals, and Romchat, prolific illustrator based in Singburi, Thailand on the Five-Headed-Adler cover art.
The anthem is officially endorsed by GIFC perpetually and will be used on every possible occasion to promote the club, excite the fans, motivate the players, and above all, bring everyone together.
“I never thought we were gonna say goodbye this way. Evil Singing Pandas is meant to be a parody metal project, but over the last 7 years, we have made some good friends, made some enemies, but most importantly, we sure had a lot of fun.”
