Indonesian hardcore bands always seem to be up on the latest trends in worldwide hardcore.
Check out this debut Higher Power/Turnstile inspired track by Tropical West. The band states that the name signifies where they’re from in the world – “tropical” because of Indonesia, “west” because they’re situated in West Borneo.
The bands main goal is to convey the message to the youth to try and do something different, try not to create art/music that seems like a template. Also, while hardcore seems to always be “aggressive” or “fierce” looking, they want to create something with a different vibe and therefore their palette will always be on the colorful end.
