As soon as you press play on this rager featuring Japanese youth crew band TRUE FIGHT and Indonesian hardcore beasts FINAL ATTACK and Australia’s NO PEACE, it’s hard not to be overcome with a huge sense of nostalgia. Youth crew bands have that power, especially when it’s been PERFECTLY. True Fight has been flying that youth crew flag proudly for the past few years. And today we get to help celebrate their brand new split.
They were kind enough to answer a few questions.
UA: Can you tell us how this sick split came about?
TF: This 3-way split all started when I asked Jesse from No Peace to feature on our song “Pressure”, which we released in 2022. In talking with him, we decided that we wanted to do something special with each other’s bands next. And we concluded that releasing a split would be the best way. Then, with the Japanese and Australian members of SET THE FIRE RECORDS, we thought it would be great to have an Indonesian band, so we asked Final Attack to join us!
UA: The Final Attack tracks are fucking SAVAGE! How did you release this split album?
TF: We’re happy to finally have dropped this release because it took way longer than expected! Haha! We want to thank No Peace and Final Attack for making it happen! We hope everyone will check the record out. Recently, Asian and Australian bands like SPEED, WHISPERS and KRUELTY have been getting attention from all over the world which gives us a lot of inspiration! And that’s why we’re doing our best to keep up with them. We all hope this album will inspire you to dig into bands from Asia and Australia, cheers!
UA: What are the tracks about on your end of the split?
TF: The song “Young Blood” is for my friends in my hometown. The scene in Ibaraki is not so big, but every band makes cool songs and supports each other. So we wrote this song with much respect and love for them.
The song “About Face” is a kinda rebellion against the phrase “If you can’t beat them, join them.”. We are luckily living a happy life, but I think there is a tendency like that in Japan or probably East Asia. We don’t want to live our lives that way, and we are trying to voice our opinions in songs and words about what we think is wrong.
Then we covered “Can’t Believe It” by Pennywise. I wanted to cover this song since we formed TRUE FIGHT cause my music roots are Melodic Punk. And when we talked about covering one of our favourite songs in each band, we immediately chose this song.
THIS IS SO SICK!!!! TØF تُف (Persian for “Spit”) is a two-man Hardcore Punk band from Amol, Iran. The band has been around since 2022, with the singer Kaaveh...
