Vietnamese Ska Punk Band JAIGON ORCHESTRA Announce Thailand Dates

Soaked in pop melodies and ska-punk/punk rock elements, Saigon’s JAIGON ORCHESTRA is fresh off drenching Vung Tau, Vietnam at the tsunami-worthy “Punk Rocking On The Beach” show. They’re now heading to Thailand for gigs in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, where they aim to spread their tidal wave of sonic energy.

Jaigon Orchestra’s costumed rockers released their debut album, Kip Dao Hoa last year, and have since released a single this year in March, “Công Bằng Cho Người Buồn” featuring Chi Xe. The album and single all feature their catchy hooks, fun vibe, and a bit of that ska-punk bite/sarcasm/crunch/whimsy combination dumpling you know and love from the genre.

The first Thai show is in the capital for Bangkok Underground Alliance on Thursday, October 5 at Speakerbox. It also features 4 of the best punk rock bands the city has to offer (The Greed, Murder Bitzkits, Lowfat, and The Die Hards), vinyl punk rock DJing, and a special live screening of the Greed’s new music video “Underground Alliance.”

The second gig is in Nakhon Ratchasima on October 7th at Arpaya on the Basement level. It’s part of the Klang Saeng series with Whispers and SOY sharing the stage, and more bands the next night, too.

With flights becoming more and more inexpensive post-pandemic, and new bands emerging from the abyss, it’s a great sign that bands like Jaigon Orchestra are starting up a new breed. Help make them happen by supporting the shows!
