Following the release of their 2023 maxi-single ‘Reign of Nightmares’ (DISASTER RECORDS), Indonesian hardcore band WORLD DOMINATION has unleashed their long-awaited debut album ‘Feast of the Undead’ (2024, Disaster Records). We’ve been writing about abrasive darkened hardcore band since at least 2018…and as day one fans of the band, we’ve been SO excited (and a little surprised that it’s taken this long) to hear a full length by these geniuses in the HM-2 death metal meets hardcore sound. The band fully explains why it took so long in the post below. Go do yourself a favor and get on the World Domination world dominating bandwagon.
Though the album process took longer than expected, World Domination delivers 12 tracks packed with chainsaw riffs and blood-boiling tunes from start to finish. The band originally planned to begin work on the album in 2019, following the release of their single Despair, honoring their commitment as part of the Disaster Records roster. But then came 2020—and as we all know, COVID hit, delaying the entire recording process. Once the situation stabilized, Anton Budi Satrio carefully recorded and completed the drum tracks in early 2021. The rest of the recording process continued after the drums were finished. AditxEdge, Fandrie Raditya, and Wawan Fury conquered all the instrumental tracks by mid-2021. Finally, Hendro Prasetyo Wibowo (Pras) of Esoteric Revelation completed the lineup, delivering ferociously monstrous vocals in mid-2022.
Feast of the Undead is a brutal collection of riffs and mosh parts inspired by the bands World Domination looks up to—from Dismember to Suffocation, from Deicide to Obituary—blended with hardcore elements reminiscent of Earth Crisis and Section 8.
The lyrics reflect the band’s raw emotions about the world they live in, touching on themes of hate, death, and social injustice, along with fictional tales of revenge like the title track and Respawn in Vengeance.
