Social Distortion-Inspired Punk Rock? Hell Yeah! The Side Burns Release New EP [Hong Kong]

Formed in 2016, Hong Kong-based punk rock trio The Side Burns has just dropped their TENTH release. Yes, tenth! 痴撚線啊! Vocalist/guitarist Ziad states that the band’s influences right from the get-go were bands like Social Distortion and Tiger Army.

In regards to this particular EP, “The songs on this record continue to follow dark themes resulting in a slightly more greasy offering from us than usual. It was recorded because life is short, time remains constant, and music is the only relief. ‘Howlin at the moon’ is a haunting song about love, chaos, and depression. ‘Ode to the lullaby’ and ‘Floating Upstream’ are dedicated to insomnia and the constant pursuit of happiness.”

Go check out the band’s FULL discography on their Bandcamp here. And then try not to cry in self-pity wondering how a band has only been around for 5 years and can have 10 releases while your band is still just releasing singles. hahahaha…
