Singapore emo/indierock/math rock band Forests recently played their last show before going on hiatus. We actually don’t know many Asian bands that get much love from their own hometown – most bands, for some odd reason, seem to be much more appreciated beyond their own borders. Forests on the other hand – watching how their own city comes together for them packed in wall to wall is super inspiring…and not only that – listen to how LOUD the audience sings along. Fucking goosebumps man.
The rest of Asia, especially here in Hong Kong, could learn a thing or two about how (and WHY) we should support our own bands with all our hearts just from watching this set.
Good luck to the boys in Forests, and we’ll be waiting patiently for your glorious return in a few years.
Yo…wish this was sent to us last year! Check out this killer all-female international compilation of females killing it across the planet in genres under the “hardcore” or “metal”...
