Sick Debut Track Off Doom/Sludge Band RUNTUH’s New Album Up Now [Malaysia]

RUNTUH is an extreme doom/sludge band hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Formed in 2021, it was their sophomore release ‘Erosion of the Self’ in 2022 was a turning point for the band that saw them shift into a more nihilistic, primal direction away from the emotional/depressive style that characterised their debut 2021 ‘Dissolution’. The band also embarked upon a lengthy period of local & international touring across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia & Japan for most of 2022 & 2023 to promote this album.

Runtuh will return with a brand new album this year entitled ‘Ambiguous Man’, marking their third full-length album to date. The album is already available for pre-order on their Bandcamp page along with the release of the first single off the album entitled ‘Manure’. ‘Manure’ serves as an introductory peek into the primary album theme that aims to reveal man’s self-deception and morally-bigoted hypocrisy in the modern world – or simply put, the Ambiguous Man. The album itself humbly offers up six fresh new pieces that aim to penetrate the boundaries of psychological violence, primal premonitions of individual/collective suffering, moral hypocrisies and quiet introspection. In terms of musical style, ‘Ambiguous Man’ sees the band exploring newer, darker territory of drone doom, blackened-ridden riffs, tribal drumming and harsher, rich ambient FX/atmospherics whilst still maintaining their signature blend of unforgiving, relentless aural punishment across every song.

Runtuh’s latest album ‘Ambiguous Man’ will be available on digital release towards the end of June 2024 via their self-owned production label Ama-Gi Collective. The band will also be hitting a 4-day tour in Taiwan this coming August where they will exclusively be promoting & showcasing the material from their latest album.
