Shoegaze Pilipinas Release 3rd Compilation – Alpas

ALPAS, translated as “to become free or break loose”, is the third installment of the Shoegaze Pilipinas compilation series. One can say it’s a continuation of Alunig and Alimbukad but in fact, Alpas is more of a stand-alone.

As the sub-title states, this collection goes beyond the spectrum of beautiful noise and reverb and travels well past the Philippines and Asia. This compilation features bands from the USA and Canada with members of Filipino descent, joined by several bands from the motherland. In effect, Alpas has a wider scope in sound. From shoegaze and dream pop, natch, it proceeds to dig into post rock, psychedelia and indierock and ultimately crosses over to indiepop, ambient and electronic pop and dreamy synth pop. It features a couple of live sessions, alternate mixes, recently released singles and unreleased tracks from Sweet Trip, Walking Marriages, The Summer Triangle, Celadon and Pale Blue Morning!
