THIS…Philippines’ answer to Shai Hulud – Modern Day Collapse release debut EP entitled Acquiescence…so good…there are so many things to gush over here…but for us what immediately stands out is the fragility in the vocalist delivery. What’s captured in his recording is him destroying his vocal chords in order for his art of emotion to be caught on 5 emotional pieces of music. We love that the screams aren’t perfect – this ain’t not contemporary metalcore release that has been edited and polished to perfection where the heart of the musicians is totally removed. In its imperfections, you hear something pretty goddamn close to perfect. Kudo to Neil Fernandez Jr of Empire Records who handled all the mixing/mastering duties to give even more life to the band’s music.

This is a band we’d like to see LIVE asap…
