New Act SWARA (ex-STRAIGHT FORWARD) Release Debut Single [Singapore]

Whenever any members of one of our favorite Asian hardcore bands, STRAIGHT FORWARD, show up in a new act…we’re down to write about them.

Check out the first single of a new act called SWARA.

Here’s what the band had to say:

“The song is basically about getting tired of people gossiping/backbiting as if they are better than others and how you couldn’t care less to participate so you just turn a deaf ear to it and play along.

We can say that we’re more influenced by a mix of indie/folk and ambient music regionally but mostly from Indonesian bands such as Efek Rumah Kaca, The Trees and The Wild etc. just to name a few. Hence, that’s why the song and upcoming songs will be in our own Malay language.

Not entirely sure what drove us but we’re all approaching our mid-30s and we just want to try and see what we can achieve before we hit our 40s hahaha.

Oh yeah, we’ll be playing our debut show in Batam (Indonesia) for Beratapkan Langit Fest on Oct 25th which features notable acts like Pusakata (IND) and Liyana Fizi (MY).”
